Peter writes in and shares this recently listed Telescoping Mini Jib on sale for just $159 [Thanks Peter].

Just for reference here's a video example (below) of a different Telescoping Video Jib. Keep in mind, this is not the exact same jib in the video, but hopefully you get an idea of how these systems telescope into full length Video Cranes.

Thanks to talent Joey Guila & Keiko Alingas of GearAddix

This new Telescoping Mini Jib includes a fluid panning base, which means you don't need to invest in a a strong fluid video head. The base can mount directly to the 3/8" stud of your favorite tripod, or can sit inside a 75mm bowl mount tripod (for easier leveling). For those who hate traveling with standard weights, just fill up the included sand bag once you get to your destination.

The stage area offers a quick release plate to get your camera on and off easily, and comes with a travel bag. Not a bad deal. Find out more info on this Portable Mini Video Jib following the link (click here).

The 701HDV and 501HDV are very popular fluid heads for Manfrotto and currently Manfrotto is accepting Mail in rebates dropping the price down a bit. You can find the list of all Mail-In Rebates for the 701HDV & 501HDV fluid heads bundled with Tripods (click here).

If you're just looking for a deal on the 701HDV fluid head alone without Mail-In rebates, Amazon ships Prime and is just $7 dollars over the rebate price.

Unfortunately, no rebates apply for the popular 561BHDV Fluid Head Monopod. Many people have been asking about this one that has sold out on both Amazon and B&HPhotoVideo.com. The only place to find a few are through one seller on eBay and luckily the prices weren't inflated.

The 717AH is back and with a slight price drop. [Thanks Larry]. This is a solid and inexpensive mount for the top of your sliders or track dollies that help to reduce vibration during your movements. It's also helpful to be able to change pan and tilt angles. You'll find this head on many DIY projects including Rod's DIY Ladder dolly. You can find the discounted 717AH following the link (click here).

Konova is now pushing a small Fluid Head for their SpiderTrax-Like Rotating Video Dolly or their popular Camera Roller Bearing Slider. This new little fluid head could be slightly compared to the Manfrotto 128RC or even the very nice Calumet Video Fluid Head. Obviously for a cheaper price, and possibly not at the same level of build quality. Either way, i'm sure it's a great little low profile fluid head for many DIY projects, but if you could afford to, you might want to check out the Calumet Fluid Head or Manfrotto Fluid Head.

BTW - Did anyone catch that other seller for the Konova Roller Bearing Slider that offers free shipping? Essentially saving you another $50 bucks? [Thanks Chris S.]

I've received several inquiries about this particular Tripod with Fluid Head, but i've no clue. Since there's a continuous amount of questions, maybe this post will spur up some comments about it. Marketed as the Ravelli AVT Video Camera Tripod with Fluid Drag Head, it's possible it could be sold under different names as well. I think I remember seeing something similar over at B&H Photo Video. Quick release plates look very similar to Manfrotto designs, so I wonder if it's cross compatible.

Other Technical details:
* Compact And Light Yet Still Supports Cameras Up To 16LBS
* Geared Center Elevator With Hand Crank
* 3 Channel Quick Release Locking Leg Sections
* New Horizontal Quick Release Latches. (allowing you to release all leg locks at once)
* Padded Foam Grips On Two Of The Three Legs To Safely Grab And Move Your Tripod

Anyone seen this on the streets, or have any more information if it's better than the Fancier or Weifeng stuff?

Shooting on a tripod is the most stable shot you can perform, but moving that Tripod from one place to the next and leveling it out can be tedious depending on the system you're using. Not many people are even aware this adapter exists, so here's the post. You've got that fancy tripod with a long neck to give you a bit of extra height but it comes 'without' a Ball head. Getting that thing lined up to the horizon is a task, especially if you've already got a ton of weight mounted on the fluid head. Instead of locking, unlocking, lowering, and raising each leg to get a perfect level, you can try the Manfrotto 438. It's a hefty fee (very hefty), but for those who feel the pain, the Manfrotto 438 Ball Level adapter sits in between the video tripod and the standard 3/8" threaded fluid head. This little gizmo will give you more flexibility in that final leveling adjustment. It's also a perfect solution for those DIY's that lack any type of leveling adjustments from DIY cranes, to DIY sliders, and compact skate dollies.
