Canon 7D Firmware Update Manual Audio

There's no secret that Canon will be (finally) releasing a firmware update for the EOS 7D. This is not your average firmware update that simply addresses bugs, but one that changes many features of the cameras abilities. Some Key Features are upping the Maximum continuous burst rate shooting up to 25 images (from 15), Support for Optional GPS receiver, Max Auto ISO setting, In-Camera RAW processing, In-Camera Resizing / Editing, File Naming, File Ratings, and the best feature for DSLR Video - Manual Audio Levels. There's more detailed specs, and a promo video following the link (Click Here).

Besides missing a swivel LCD, this really brings the 7D back up to speed as a highly relevant DSLR video camera among today's lineup. Since moving to the Canon 5D Mark III, our studio just sold a few Canon 7Ds on eBay (for a steal). You probably already know how much abuse one of these 7D camera bodies can take, so it could be a great deal if you can find a used one for a cheaper price than a Rebel series camera. Check out some of the used Canon 7D Bodies available on eBay (Click Here).

Of course, the Canon 7D is not a discontinued camera and can still be purchased new. There's some instant rebates available for these cameras at B&H going on right now (Click Here).

The Rokinon 35mm F/1.4 is surely a nice lens to have in your kit - especially nice when there's a discount available. Normally about $500 dollars, today it's part of Amazon's Lightning Deals which is usually the best price you'll find anywhere. The deal was so good last time (just $350), I ended up buying a couple for my friends who missed the sale. They also only run a limited quantity during these sales so be swift. Check it out at the Lightning Deals page (Click here).

Not quite the blow out deal we saw from this seller twice last month, but if you missed out, the Canon 7D Body is again on a Daily Deal for hundreds cheaper than you'll find elsewhere. Check it out following the link (click here).

Several people jumped on the Canon 7D deal and it sold out fast. Others weren't so lucky. I woke up today, to see that it is once again being offered via the Daily Deal. I know a bunch of people were able to take advantage of this deal, including some of my close friends, so if you received one from the last round feel free to leave some comments to the skeptics. Listed as Brand New (not refurbished). Is this grey market stuff? Nope, the auction (like the last one) shows that it includes the US Warranty registration card. Check it following the link (here).

For those that just might be thinking about buying a Canon 60D in the next few days, don't forget to look into those rebates. You could get a Canon 60D (body only) for about $899, or you could get a Canon 60D (body) + Canon Pixma Pro9000 printer for just $898. There's plenty of other DSLR body rebates going on this month so make sure you look through them before just jumping in to a buy. Most of these offers expire at the end of the month. [Thanks Brennan]

You can see some of those DSLR rebates here

Other Instant discounts on Canon Lenses and Speedlite Flashes are found at the dedicated Canon Rebate page here:

Canon 7D (body) just popped up on Daily Deals this morning - NEW CONDITION. It's almost $400 dollars cheaper than anywhere else online. It's going to move fast for sure. Cheaper than what you could find one in 'used condition'. Listed as NEW with 1-Year Canon U.S.A. Warranty (not Grey Market). Advertised by eBay themselves, and ranked as Top Seller. With eBay and Paypal protection, it sounds like a solid deal to me. Check it out following the link (click here).

Varavon's latest product is a flip up style ViewFinder called the EX-Solo with models available for all the popular Nikon, Canon 5D / 7D / T2i / 60D, and even small Panasonic GH2 cameras. The ViewFinder attaches using the Tripod base adapter (no sticky frame here), and still provides an access port if you want to mount a quick release. The EX-Solo includes a diopter for those with less than perfect vision and flips up a full 180 degrees when the VF is not in use. The view finder stays put with a few magnets when it's in the closed position. Varavon pricing has always been a bit high, but quality has been top notch in it's other product line. At least it's still cheaper than the high end viewfinders. Looks like they are just getting in stock (click here).

I purchased a Refurbished Canon DSLR a little while back, and was very happy with the overall experience. Thanks to a tip from Scott, i'm not sure how long this was going on, but Canon's got 15% off Refurbished DSLRs. 5D Mark II sold out, Canon 1D Mark IV sold out, but a Canon 7D can be had for $1155.00. There's a few 60D and Canon T2i kits on the site, but don't forget this even applies to Lenses and Flashes. A Canon 580 EX II for $339? A Canon 24-105mm F/4L IS for just over $780? There's a sweet 17-55mm IS I know some of you have been looking into. You can check out DSLRs here:
