Canon 70-200mm F/2.8L IS II – DEAL
True story. I was lined up to work on a shoot where I really needed Image Stabilization on a 70-200mm. I ponied up $2500 full retail price to get one shipped in time for the shoot.
Today there's a pretty amazing deal on this lens I wished I had at the time of my purchase. At B&H, the new $2500 70-200mm F/2.8L IS lens immediately drops down to just $2199, and combined with another $300 Mail-in-Rebate, your final total is just $1899. Just add the item to cart to see changes. [Update: Go beyond cart to see changes]
For a limited time, and limited quantity at this price. (found here).

Discounts on Nikon & Canon Lenses
In case you were looking at some new Nikon or Canon equipment, here are a couple of links to current discounts for Nikon and Canon. Supposedly there are some deep discounts with some of Nikon's legacy lenses, but i'm not much of a Nikon guy to tell you if it's a great deal. The Canon Instant Rebates look similar to offers that were available the holidays, and are back for a limited time. Check them out following the links below, and keep me in the loop if you find something really good.

Final Days for Canon Instant Rebates on Lenses and Speedlights
I haven't found anything on this list that I really need at the moment, but perhaps some of you who may be ready to invest in new lenses could find something useful. The final days are coming to a close for Canon Instant Rebates on Speedlight Flashes and Lenses (including some of their newest releases) over at B&H. You can check out all of the deals at the Canon Rebate Page (click here).

Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L II – Deal
Not long ago Canon released a newer version of their popular 24-70mm F/2.8L lens, but at almost double the price of the original version and without Image Stabilization (which many hoped for). Sure, there's some major differences in the design and in image quality, but not enough for someone like me to spend that extra cash to upgrade. I'm curious if anyone out there has decided on the upgrade, and if you think it was worth it? Leave a comment. One thing I will say is if you shoot Canon, this is one lens you need to have in your bag. If not the version 2, you can still find the many of the version 1 F/2.8L on eBay for a fair price (seen here).
Canon 24-70mm F/2.8L - via eBay
Regardless about my opinion, there is a great price on the new 24-70mm F/2.8L II lens if this is what you've been looking at. Normally runs for $2800 dollars (as seen here on Amazon), B&H is running a special today knocking off an extra $500 bucks (check it out here).

Canon 7D Deal – Back for Today
Several people jumped on the Canon 7D deal and it sold out fast. Others weren't so lucky. I woke up today, to see that it is once again being offered via the Daily Deal. I know a bunch of people were able to take advantage of this deal, including some of my close friends, so if you received one from the last round feel free to leave some comments to the skeptics. Listed as Brand New (not refurbished). Is this grey market stuff? Nope, the auction (like the last one) shows that it includes the US Warranty registration card. Check it following the link (here).

Canon T3i + 3 Lens Bundle
Another DSLR bundle deal of the day, this time it's the Canon T3i with 18-55mm kit lens, a 50mm F/1.8, and a 55-250mm. I think it ends today. More information, find it below.
Canon Lenses – Instant Rebate
You might have caught this as it started yesterday. Canon's offering instant rebates on a variety of Lenses (and flashes), but if you go direct to Canon's website there's tax and hefty shipping fees involved. You can find the same rebate information over at B&H and for some this means saving big on sales tax. Nothing overly exciting, and it extends throughout September 3rd. Current Canon Lens and Flash rebate information can be found following the link (click here).
