I'm still getting questions about mounting the new Carry Speed VF-4 on a GH3. I can tell you that it's a very tight fit on a GH3, and it hangs down just a hair below the LCD. See video below.
In the next video below, I'm using the VF-4 extension bracket to show how it can mount on a GH3 with a battery grip attached. One problem with the GH3 grip is that it will relocate the tripod mount off center (to the right), but the VF-4 may be one of the only LCD View Finder products that has enough adjustment to work.
Here's an image Dennis shared with me where he mounts the VF-4 Quick Release plate under the P&C GearBox first which works as a small spacer to fit with the GH2 camera body [Thanks Dennis].
[Reminder] Expires this Wednesday June 12, 2013, here's a link to grab a $50 OFF coupon code good for the VF-4 or VF-4 bundle. More information about the new Carry Speed VF-4 LCD Video View finder can be found at CarrySpeed.com (here)

Damn bought the VF-3 a month ago and adapted with QR plates on my GH3. Sucks because the 1/4 20 thread isn't lined up. Good thing I rarely use the VF with rails.

Post author@Basti - In this manner, the Rails will not work under the GearBox.

I like Dennis' approach.
Will the 15mm rod adapter still fit on there?
this is actually the main reason I didn't buy the P&C cage yet.
I am unsure if the carry speed vf (I have the old edition) will raise the camera to far from the rods - resulting in the follow focus being to low to grab the lens.
anyone have experience with a similar setup?
Emm
Post author@Sqweezy - This is a 3.2" LCD View Finder so it will fit just about any recent camera with the 3.2" lcd screen. The GH2 is over 3 years old so unfortunately it will still have to be modified by using some type of spacer plate.

So will this fit on the GH2 without the Gearbox attached? I watched all the Carry Speed preview videos at NAB and their guy kept saying the VF-4 is "universal", meaning it will work on any camera. I'm not really interested in modding the GH2 mount to force the viewfinder on there.
