Here's a great deal on the Sandisk 64GB SDXC media going on today. This makes it even cheaper than what Transcend has to offer. Definitely a good buy for those who need the 64GB space or SDXC file format. (click here to compare some prices on SDXC via B&H).

Remember that all the new cameras are starting to move towards the SDXC format including the new 5D Mark III, and it's way cheaper than getting compact flash media (as seen here). SDXC is backwards compatible so it will work on your cameras and portable recorders that are using 'SDHC' today.

The same 64GB in Compact Flash will run you a minimum of $140 dollars +, and with SDXC it will run you just under $49 bucks (today), which is almost three times cheaper. I've been successfully using SDHC and SDXC media in my 5D Mark III for several hours of video, so I highly recommend investing in SDHC or SDXC if your cameras can take it.

A deal today lists the Lexar 32GB Class 10 SDHC on sale today, making it even cheaper than the Transcend brand 32GB SDHC card. Other sites are still holding on to the almost $60 dollar price tag. The new sale price still comes in slightly cheaper than the promotional (2) pack 32GB Lexar deal, so if the Lexar name brand turns you on, you can find the current sale price of just $35.99 dollars following the link (click here).

Oddly, I looked at this item yesterday and it was out of stock. I guess they just re-listed the inventory this morning so it gives you another chance to grab a few. [Thanks Cameron] Best deal online that I could find currently, and with all these point and shoot cameras and GoPros that i've accumulated, I needed to stock up. Other sizes are also on discount from 4GB, 8GB, and 32GB, but not priced as nicely as the 16GB right now. You can find the Transcend 16GB Class 10 SDHC on sale following the link to Amazon (click here).

Not long ago Lexar released a 128GB SDXC media card (I have this card) for under $200 dollars. Currently I use this card as my featherweight external hard drive, doubling the hard drive space available in my Macbook Air. SDXC is a backwards compatible format to work in cameras that use average SDHC, but does not suffer from the 4GB file limit (your camera must also support this). Yes, it does work in every camera i've thrown it into including the Sony HX9V, Fuji X10, Canon S100, T2i, 60D, etc. Although each of these cameras still bottleneck with their own firmware limiting file recording.

Recently released is the new Sandisk 64GB SDXC media card and at first glance you'd think the Lexar was a better deal when it comes to Size/Price ratio, but the new Sandisk is Speed-Rated to UHS Class 1 standard spec'd out at 95MB/s Read/90MB/s Write Speeds, while Lexar's SDXC is still rated as SDHC Class 10 133x 20MB/s Read Transfer. Might be overkill for DSLR shooters, but big Video camera shooters can take advantage of these larger and faster SDXC cards. The new Sandisk 64GB SDXC cards are already available via B&H (click here)

Some people may have received this notification via email regarding certain Transcend Class 10 SDHC media cards. I guess somewhere down the line, Transcend made a few changes. All of the cards I've purchased don't fall into this category. I cannot verify this on my own personal media, but it could be something you want to check out for yourself.

We have recently learned that Transcend Information is voluntarily recalling the Transcend 16 GB Class 10 SDHC Flash Memory Card TS16GSDHC10E.
Items impacted by this recall were sold between July 28 and August 15, 2011. Due to a manufacture process issue, the item subjected to this recall might cause read/write blocking if the file size is over 4GB and the information on the card may not transfer.

Kingston's 16GB SDHC Class 10 card hits Amazon's Deal of the Day (today). [Thanks Sheldon] Not much of a deal for me, since it's just a few dollars shy of a Transcend Class 10 (which I use). In any case, don't forget to check out all of the limited time deals over at Amazon (click here).

Some people swear by shooting only cards that are 8GB in capacity Max. I shoot with 32GB cards, call me a Danger Seeker. Some people shoot only Sandisk media. I personally shoot with the Transcend Class 10 or 400x Media Cards.

Regardless of anyone's rhyme or reason you can grab a Sandisk 8GB SDHC Class 10 for an awesome price over at B&H much cheaper than elsewhere. As for the Transcend 8GB Class 10 (which isn't as fast, but fast enough for video) you can find those running under $12 dollars. Links below.

That sexy new Lexar 128GB SDXC Card is now shipping (first metioned here: http://cheesycam.com/lexar-sdxc-media-cards/). The fact that this comes with the name Lexar at the introductory price is already exciting. Interesting that on Lexar's own website, the Buy It Now price is $80 dollars more than at B&H. Sounds expensive upfront, but those who remember having to pay over $1,000 dollars for a very small amount of sxs Memory feel the deal.

Sure it's not something DSLR shooters will go nuts over, but there's plenty of higher end cameras that can take advantage of these new Extra Capacity cards. Of course the newly announced Sony NEX-FS100E could benefit, but even other cameras like Canon's XA10 Pro-Sumer video camera would be a nice home, since it has a feature to use Double SDXC card slots and record simultaneously (for redundancy). Maybe an sxs adapter will be available to fit the new Sony PMW-F3 and take some of the cost of ownership down a bit. I'm just more curious to see if a Canon T2i can see that much 128GB memory..

[Update] For those who questioned the demand on such high priced media, it just sold out in a few hours. About two weeks out, but you can still order.
