Samyang 7.5mm Fisheye Lens for Olympus / Panny

Samyang has released their 7.5mm Fisheye Lens for Olympus or Panasonic Micro Four Thirds cameras. A problem with most small cameras are the crop factor, limiting you from getting the widest possible shot, but this new fisheye will help you get there for a few hundred dollars cheaper than the Panasonic 8mm f/3.5. What no love for Sony NEX? Don't worry, it appears you might be able to adapt this to something like the Sony NEX-5n with this adapter: M4/3 Lens to Sony NEX

As usual from Samyang, no auto focus but aperture has a dedicated ring down to F/3.5. Since Olympus like to rock silver, and Panasonic camera in black, they are available in two different color schemes. Not yet available on Amazon, but early adopters will find it on eBay (click here).

  1. sorry, it's the panasonic which is more expensive: the samyang 8mm f/3.5, which works on anything from a D3s or 5D2 (with some shaving) to a NEX-5n, costs the same as this one, and comes with a NEX mount

still, maybe when making it a bit wider (to compensate for the smaller sensor) they also reduced the image circle; we need someone to test this lens with a m43 to NEX adapter, but I'd buy the 8mm with nikon mount anyway (it can be adapted to everything except sony alpha)

  2. I think this one is cheaper because it doesn't need to cover the full APS-C (or even fullframe) sensor that the 8mm covers

so maybe there's no NEX version because you'd get hard vignetting (as would happen with a voigtlander 25mm f/0.95, for example)

which would also mean no adapter love for this one; we need someone to test it first
