Thanks to Omar for pointing out this new GH3 Promo Video. There's finally an OEM battery grip showing on the GH3, and some of the text descriptions include up to 60fps frame rate, higher video bitrate ALL-I: 72MBPS, dust and splash proof magnesium body. Sounds like panasonic has a solid camera here with no hacks needed.

Where's the website for getting the hacks for the current GH2?
Thanks.
JC
@Efex most likely it will be hackable, Panasonic is pretty open to letting hackers fool with the firmware. Thats how they were able to make these changes to the GH3, from seeing what the GH2 lacked.

@Libby
Where are these infos from? Or is that your wish?
I would definitely pay 1700 for that...

If it offers better light sensitivity then trumps most all else. That's the thing for me.
I like my old hacked Lumix model and love the image it offers in bright light, but I use my 5D for most shoots because I know I have lots of exposure to play with.
Regardless, with modern cams everything's so even performance-wise these days, and you can get a great imaging system for next to nothing, why even bother to be a gear/tech head anymore?
The bigger question is what the heck are you going to do with that stuff?
Use it to make something/anything worthwhile ...or just talk about it?
You really think that not having a Canon that does 60fps is the reason you can't make a motion picture edit that's compelling?
I've been a freelancer for more than two decades --and my nephew makes better videos than me with his used GH1 and two prime lenses!
He's just a better storyteller.
And that's not a feature you can buy from Canon, Sony, or Panasonic.

$1200 seems way too low.
Will it be hackable?

@Bill Voelker
No camera is doing what GH2 with the Hack is, no dslr under 5k
GH2 is underpriced and a better video camera than any offering from Canon that charges 3x more.
The GH3 at $1200 is still an excellent deal, heck I paid that for my Canon 60d and the Gh2 blows it out of the water.
The GH3 body only can easily sell for $1200 body only and $1600 with a nice kit lens.

I agree horrible edit, but i still watched it to the end. Who ever edited it much be the fastest reader in the world and likes text to come in from all directions.
Love the Philip Bloom cameo at 2:47

I think we are going to be talking more like $1700 here, not $1200. The mag alloy body alone jacks the price up a bit.

I like my hacked GH2 and waiting for my BMCC, to be honest this is promo is kind a sad...they could have done much better. Nothing against the camera just this Promo.
omar
This camera should be making Canon nervous. This GH3 looks great!

Also, I tried to find the guys in the white van from the Lumia debacle, but didn't see them. I guess panasonic is just a little more honest.
david
this video sucks monkey balls!
i could have made a way better video than that.
seriously?
scottrellwi
So if Panasonic can make a relatively inexpensive camera with these many features, why can't Canon? Why do I need to install Magic Lantern to make my camera better? Panasonic also has a full line of traditional consumer and pro video cameras, yet they are not worried about potential sales losses.

The biggest reason I bought a GH2 was due to its awesome video quality, especially with hacks, for around $700. The rumor has it that the new GH3 body will be around $1200. Unless it blows away GH2 in video quality, it's going to have a hard time competing with all the great cameras that are coming out.
