We finally get to see a video review of the ALZO Transformer DSLR Rig Accessory Cage. If you've collected quite a bit of external accessories, a cage is a simple way to keep things together while moving your about. Vimeo member Brian Russell shows how it's in use with a JuicedLink DT454 and an external Monitor. The handles of a cage aid in stabilization when going hand held, and not seen in the video could be the optional top handle from Alzo if you need to shoot low. The Alzo cages are available on Amazon (click here).
Optional top bracket can be found below:

Post author@stanperry - I use quick release plates on my cages and move them from Tripod to Monopod when I need to go more mobile. You should check out the Manfrotto 561BHDV.

just got this because of this review ... and i have to say its a great product ... the handle is priceless ... put it on a tripod with a fluid head mounted my camera light and zoom h4n and was rocking and rolling ... I could pick up the whole rig with the handle with no worries ... it made it easy to relocate from location to location as i was on this wedding i just videotaped ... when i took it off to go hand held it was ok ... I more liked the extra hot shoe mounts ... and when i set it down it sat down on the floor it seemed to be balanced ... and I wasnt worried about the camera ... I would never just set the naked body down durning a shoot ....
first problem was the light was on the far left because of the design on the bracket requires you have the 2 hot shoe mounts on either side with the bar in the middle ... I figure i could solve this problem with flex arms to satellite in a more visually appealing location as so with the microphone ... i notice people love to talk to the light or look at the mic and always to close to the camera .... with a flex arm i could push them back further with out having to stop the take .... seems dumb but I feel it would save me time in event/ documentary situation ....
well thats my first review .... love the site ... I could make a video but who knows ...
