Step Aside Black Friday – Meet Prime Day

Aamzon Prime Day

Better Deals than Black Friday? Amazon wants to overshadow this popular shopping event with it's own 'Amazon Prime Day' slated for July 15th (one day only). Unfortunately it's only available to Amazon Prime Members (which I am already), but you can always sign up prior to the event. Peep this snippet from an Amazon Press Release that was just posted today.

Amazon Press Release:
On the eve of Amazon’s 20th birthday, the company introduces Prime Day, a global shopping event, with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members.

“Prime Day is a one-day only event filled with more deals than Black Friday, exclusively for Prime members around the globe. Members tell us every day how much they love Prime and we will keep making it better,” said Greg Greeley, Vice President Amazon Prime. “If you’re not already a Prime member, you’ll want to join so you don’t miss out on one of the biggest deals extravaganzas in the world.”

Emm, this Prime Day was a bust. It truly was a Black Friday event: make it sound like there are real deals but in actuality, clear out stuff nobody wants.

  2. Just a heads up - it's probably worth mentioning that as part of Prime Day, they are hosting a photo contest.

Just read the fine print, and the contest is 100% a rights grab. Winners are required to sign a "transfer of copyright" document. *sighs*
