Vintage camera styling seems to be a popular trend. Olympus did a great job bringing back some influence with it's PEN cameras, and now the new Olympus OM-D EM-5 design carries on some influence from the old OM series. I wonder if die hard Oly PEN camera fanboys are excited about the new retro design? The new sensor for Olympus amongst other new tech is supposed to be outstanding. For just under $1K, the Olympus OM-D is already available on pre-order (click here for prices).

The OM-D's in-body stabilization feature usable in video mode is the thing I'm most looking forward to. For the life of me, I can take stable handheld footage with the NEX 7 and a 50mm prime 🙁

Post author@mike_tee_vee - It better! This Sony NEX-7 i've been toying with has focus assist in the EVF, pretty amazing stuff.

Any word on whether this will have focus peaking?

Its a shame that this camera will not work with classic OM lenses though...

As owner of an olympus OM1 and OM10, I absolutely LOVE the styling of these cameras...

Eh! I'm kind of sick of the retro looking stuff already.
Ipod cases to look like cassette players, Film gunk and grain to make HD look like 8mm, DVD's with MONO sound (BEATS ME! WHY?)and don't get me started on this INSTAGRAHM thing!
The coolest retro has been the Fuji X100 or Fuji x10 and that's as far as I would go, Now they getting over board with the Fuji X pro... whats next bring back the Record player hiss and Digital "Analog" TV's?
